I wanted my first blog post for Feminine Wellness to be an introduction and an explanation of sorts about me and how I got to this place, right now, typing this post.
I’m Alicia
I have birthed 5 children. I am known as Nana to 6 more. I have spent 35 of my 52 years married to 2 different men, have suffered heartbreak, anxiety & panic attacks, miscarriage, pelvic issues, scoliosis, a seemingly never-ending perimenopause and now menopause itself. And I’ve been lucky enough to have had a 20+ year yoga practice to support me through the better part of all of it. As a yoga therapist, I am all about self-care and women’s well-BEing. Mine and yours.
My Passion & Path
I have been intrigued by the pelvic floor and women’s wellness for some time. I have worked with so many women with anxiety, trauma, autoimmune disorders, pain and injury, I guess it was just a matter of time before I wanted to work exclusively with women’s issues, specifically pelvic floor health. Although I had learned much about the pelvic floor throughout my yoga therapy training, I officially started studying it back in 2019 and was so excited to have finally discovered my passion and path.
Detour!
Not long into my studies, my marriage blew up and my life as I knew it was pulled out from under me. In a panic, I made some hasty business decisions. I now know that that first year I should not have made any big decisions about anything. As it turned out, I began building my niche around scoliosis because I have a lot of experience with back conditions. Then COVID came along and gave me the pause I needed to step back, take some deep breaths and listen to my heart…
Back on Track..
That brings me here, now. I am in process of changing lanes, so to speak. Rebranding my business. Taking everything that I learned that year I was panicking and recreating and redirecting it toward my passion: website changes, email changes, social media changes, etc. It is a lot. But so very, very worth it.
Moving forward, my blog posts will cover everything pelvic floor, as well as anything I deem related to and important for our wellbeing.
Thank you for being here
I look forward to connecting with you and supporting you on your path to Feminine Wellness.
