Private Prenatal Yoga & Postnatal Yoga Sessions

Yoga is a gentle yet effective form of exercise that also provides the added benefit of relaxation. It is recommended for both pregnant women and new mothers. Prenatal Pelvic Floor Yoga and Postnatal Pelvic Floor Yoga Therapy programs are individualized for your exact needs.

Prenatal Pelvic Floor Yoga Therapy can assist with the following:

• Stretching, toning, and reducing stress while pregnant
• Managing overactive/hypertonic pelvic floor issues to facilitate an easier birth

Why is Pelvic Floor Relaxation Important for Pregnant Women

Women who have overactive pelvic floor muscles can have a more difficult time giving birth. Chronically contracted muscles interfere with the baby’s descent, prolong labor, and can result in tearing and other pelvic floor dysfunction issues. Making pelvic floor relaxation a part of your birth preparation could shorten your second stage of labor and make delivery easier for both mother and baby.

Pelvic Floor relaxation sessions have the added benefit of reducing stress and anxiety and improving physical activity, which are both important to a healthy pregnancy for both mom and baby.

Postnatal Pelvic Floor Yoga Therapy can assist with the following:

Improving the tone of your pelvic floor after the baby comes
• Reducing stress and anxiety around motherhood
• Strengthening the upper body and core, which assists in carrying the baby and breastfeeding.
• Releasing tension in the back, neck, and shoulders and improves posture.

Why is Postnatal Yoga Important for new moms?

Carrying and delivering a baby is physically demanding and can take a toll on your body, especially your pelvic floor. Participating in a yoga program designed to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles can be beneficial in addressing common post-delivery issues such as incontinence and prolapse. Engaging in movements, stretches, and muscle-strengthening exercises, combined with breathing and relaxation techniques, can help alleviate the physical strain and discomfort associated with motherhood.

Taking an hour each week to focus on self-care is an invaluable investment in your well-being.
