Anxiety & Trauma Support Through Yoga Therapy
Anxiety
Anxiety isn’t simply “in the mind” — it’s a full-body, nervous-system experience. When the body senses threat, real or perceived, the sympathetic system activates: the heart races, breath becomes shallow, muscles tense, thoughts speed up, and the body prepares for fight, flight, or freeze.
Through therapeutic yoga, breathwork, and somatic awareness, you can learn to gently interrupt this cycle and guide your system back toward safety and regulation.
Yoga therapy for anxiety supports you in:
- reducing physical tension and gripping patterns
- calming racing thoughts through interoceptive awareness

- using breath to soften the stress response
- shifting out of fight-or-flight more quickly
- building a sense of internal steadiness
- increasing emotional tolerance and resilience
- cultivating long-term nervous-system balance
With specialized training and years of experience working with anxiety-related conditions, I offer a therapeutic approach that meets your body where it is — without pressure, shame, or force.
Trauma
Trauma can create patterns of hypervigilance, disconnection, protective holding, and difficulty trusting the body. Yoga therapy is not a replacement for mental health treatment, but it is a powerful complement — helping you rebuild a sense of safety from the inside out.
Trauma-informed yoga therapy focuses on:
- re-establishing a gentle relationship with the body
- supporting self-regulation through safe, predictable practices
- improving sleep and reducing hyperarousal
- releasing chronic tension patterns related to survival responses
- reconnecting with internal cues (interoception)
- building choice, agency, and empowerment
- creating spaciousness around thoughts and feelings
This work happens slowly, compassionately, and with full respect for your boundaries and pace.
My Therapeutic Approach
I integrate movement, breath, somatic practices, guided rest (like Yoga Nidra and NSDR), and nervous-system education to create a supportive, personalized program for each client.
Whether you’re working with anxiety, trauma recovery, or a combination of the two, our sessions are grounded in safety, choice, predictability, and attunement — the foundations of therapeutic yoga.
